Knock knock
Last night somebody knocked on our door at about 10.15pm. After I threw Rose the phone and told her to dial 911 if the guy got shizzy with me I went to the door to the tune of Nugget barking like his life depended on it. From what I could tell the guy was saying through the door was ‘Is there somebody with disabilities in the house’. There have been so many stories of people busting in to other peoples houses recently that I wouldn’t open the door and made it very apparent I wanted him to leave ASAP. Of course I was paranoid for the next hour that somebody was outside the house.
Rose convinced me she needed one of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD sets last weekend so we’ve been having regular Buffy watching session together. Of course I get to watch Alyson Hannigan regularly now as well (Rose don’t beat me too hard).
Today is the start of memorial day weekend so the rats are now using jet packs to leave the place. I’m meant to be rehearsing tonight so I’ll probably hang around for a while yet, keep myself warm with the IMDB web site and coffee that could strip paint.spoke Rob at at 2.00pm | permalink | 0 comments

It's raining, it's pooring, my love life is...ok actually
Hello again I didn’t see you there.
Having got over my initial shock of being called French I have got my wits about me again. The MU photo shoot was cancelled yesterday due to lead singer having to work late-itus. As it was I was called into a meeting so would have been late anyway. Funnily enough the divisional directors held meetings last week to quell rumors the site was going to get shut down, apparently they’d talked about it but changed their minds. It’s like your wife coming home and saying ‘I was going to leave you but I changed my mind’ On one hand it’s good news, on the other it’s like ‘You were going to leave me?’
Jeff and I were talking about a song were writing, well technically he’s writing it I’m just stinking up the joint. I think I offended him because I told him to make sure he wrote it for Liz to sing and not himself. I think it washed over him or he ignored me. He said recently ‘I’m really more of a lead singer’, the rest of the band just looked at each other like ‘OhhhhhKaayyyy’. It won’t surprise me if he comes into rehearsal one day and says he wants to be a fireman or an astronaut.
My car now has roughly a 10 inch crack running along the windshield. To quote my friend Lucia when I was growing up ‘My crack is getting bigger’, it’s OK in the style of Microsoft I’ll call it a feature. I got a nasty shock on Kelly Blue Book yesterday, my car is worth $3000 less then what I owe on it. Precious.spoke Rob at at 1.00pm | permalink | 0 comments

Pass me the croissant
I’m truly offended. Somebody just asked me if I was French. Do I look like a garlic chomping, chain smoking, Eiffel Tower worshipper. Apparently yes!
No wonder they wouldn’t serve me my freedom fries in the cafeteria this lunchtime and the special sauce looked a lot like somebody had spat on the plate.
MU’s debut show went the best that could be expected this weekend. Liz still had the deer in the headlights thing going a little bit but she loosened up a bit by the middle of the show. It was nice seeing a few old faces, some others I wish not. Interestingly Dave from Who Cares asked me to do a side project with him. Despite my insistence to the negative he managed to squeeze an ‘OK maybe one gig’ response from me.
I’m trying to help Cliff sell the old heap PW bus, sorry I mean the great running one careful owner bus. At a 10% commission of course.spoke Rob at at 3.30pm | permalink | 0 comments

Hi ho silver
So I came back to work to slightly less anarchy then was expected. Portland was OK in a kind of similar but not quite as interesting kind of way to Seattle. Despite the fact the hotel was on the airport flight path and beds and pillows felt like they’d been used in a slumber party pillow fight attended by silver back gorillas. If nothing else it was nice being somewhere different for a few days. The drive back was a peach as well, nothing like doing 70+ mph in heavy rain to get the old bowels moving.
Our reception on collecting the dogs was different too. Nugget ran straight back to find some food which was just as well as he smelt like he’d rolled in something nasty. He must have been upset his barking at the front door was seriously downgraded.
I applied for a job on Monday which hopefully could have a nice pay hike if I got it and get me out of the depressing area I work in now. I’m not holding my breath though.
MU had a good jam last night. Very encouraging with our official debut show coming up. We’re getting near having a song called ‘Torn Apart’ ready which has an Audioslave kind of feel to it. Musically we pretty much have all the parts just need the vocals complete.spoke Rob at at 12.30pm | permalink | 0 comments
