We’re on a bridge to nowhere

So Pie in her infinite benevolence allowed me to order a Leo Quan BadAss 2 bridge for my Jazz bass last week. Once on, my already monstrous tone will know no bounds. Basically it adds sustain and makes it a lot cleaner and more punchy, I’m kind of a guitar hot–rodding tone whore on the sly. I also ordered some musicians ear plugs because Pie and I are having a few “What did you say, speak up?” type conversations. I got a USB connectable zip drive so I can finally get the music off my 8-Track recorder. Pie has always been accommodating about me funding my lunacy (not always so keen on me taking part in it though).

I did a recording with the Dave/The Beanie Shavers last week where Jeff and I did our best Tom Waits impersonations on the chorus of his song ‘Can’t You See Yourself’, it was funny trying to sing that low though the end effect was cool. Since then my voice has felt really ratty and as only just stopped crapping out on me. I was hoping his involvement with the Beanies would help scratch some of Jeff’s itches he doesn’t get to scratch in PW, sometimes that whole thing feels like it’s teetering on the edge to me.

So we survived another Halloween. Considering how anti-stranger and having the doorbell rung Nugget is yesterday was pretty stressful for him. We seem to get less kids every year which is either a sign of the times or the word has got out about our dog. I always like a Chester as well, offering strange kids candy at my door.

We went out last weekend to Club Vertigo so Pie could get her chance to dress up for the year. It was a kind of a let down as no one I knew wanted to come and we only saw one person we knew down there. It's funny that Tacoma seems to do grotty clubs with bad music better then anywhere else. I'm sure we'll end up playing here in the near future.

It is just me or does the Chupacabra sound like some mythical product Taco Bell would serve which is made out of different ingredients then the four they usually use?
